Al Ain Wildlife Park Resort .  United Arab Emirates

These series of muti-courtyard residences are part of a park resort master plan near the Al Ain Zoo in the United Arab Emirates. Their typology were studied for their compatibility and adaptability to the local cultural values, life style and weather of the region. The driving strategies for design were the implementation of enlivened paths, the creation of private exterior spaces, the introduction of water features and pools that intermingle with the common areas, the provision of sun protection through the architectural components and the implementation of cross ventilation and other passive cooling means while allowing the interior to extend generously into the exterior. Thirteen dwelling models of various sizes and program were created within the complex, each group with a unique physical expression responsive to their own internal organization.
